As you regular readers know, over a month ago, I posted here an analysis of the recent polls and events and made the prediction that President Barack Obama will be re-elected in the 2012 election; in addition, he would be re-lected along with the Democratic Party taking control of both Houses of Congress.
The most recent national poll by Pew Research (click link to view) indicates that I am right on track to see that prediction become fact.
The Republican Party has become the political equivalent of an insurance pool shrunk to so small a membership that the cost of supporting their candidates will no longer be borne by the general electorate.
By pandering to so many right-wing groups with no tolerance even for each other, much less the larger electorate, the party has become a haven for the weird and unfriendly.
Their behavior, since President Obama was elected, wherein they reject all proposals by the President, even those moderated and previously supported by the Republican Party. As early as the day after the election of President Obama, the Republican Party stated that its primary objective going forward would be to see to it that Obama was not re-elected. Apparently, they meant at any cost to the nation's benefit or needs.
The U.S. general electorate is not looking for persons to elect who are "anti" anything. They are looking for candidates who are "for" debating and compromising on the great issues facing our nation.
While the Republican Party has been busy telling everyone and anyone who will listen that they are against Obama and anything and everything he offers to them in the form of a compromise, the electorate has become weary of the strange and even dangerous ignorance of the potential Republican candidates.
Watching the debates, can anyone blame them? Hardly, I think.
Moments of great crisis require great sacrifice, great debate, and great compromise on every person's part. However, the Republican Party has presented a public face that says, in order to pander to small factions and a sense or exclusion rather than inclusion, they have no interest in sacrificing for the nation's benefit, will not contribute to open public debate on these issues and, under no conditions at all, will they compromise on those issues most important to the small, weird, sectarian minorities they hope to fashion into some kind of majority come election day 2012.

I do not need the minimal income generated by your "clicking through" these ads to support myself. However, I could never afford the expense of supporting such a blog site on my own and your viewing those advertising sponsors' messages does make this forum available to all. These ads are no security risk to your computer or your privacy for multiple reasons. First, I have absolute and total control over what ads and advertisers appear on my blog. I have nothing to gain from your visiting an advertisers site and finding as a result that your computer is infected or your privacy infringed upon. Second, these ads are placed and serviced by a reputable sales organization - AdSense. They would quickly go out of business if readers who click through the ads they place on this blog became the least bit dissatisfied by the results. Finally, Google and Blogspot.com have nothing to gain from damaging your computer or infringing on your privacy and everything to lose if they do.
