To all those disabled persons in the Dallas / Forth Worth area considering shopping at NorthPark Center.
You should be aware that NorthPark Management has been discriminating against the disabled by restricting access to disabled parking spaces for the use of their valet parking service and charging disabled persons valet parking fees to use the spaces.
On November 28, 2011 NorthPark Management signed a settlement agreement with the Department of Justice to bring their facilities and practices into compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act.
They did not do so willingly because they believe in treating the disabled in accordance with the rights guaranteed to them under the ADA.
For over a dozen years they have willfully violated the ADA and made exorbitant profits from valet parking obstructing and restricting access to disabled parking for their profit. For at least the past three years and four months they have been aware they were in violation of the ADA and yet permitted their attorneys to fight any kind of accommodation for the disabled until forced to do so in response to my complaint to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Anyone with a disability to should choose to take their business to another mall and to retailers who are not located at NorthPark Center in show of their support of those mall owners and retailers who have shown, from the start they respect the disabled and want their business.
The following is a list of the retailers at NorthPark Center and their contact numbers. Before you shop and spend your money in their retail outlets you should call their store representatives and ask them these questions:
- Did NorthPark Management inform you that they had been in violation of the ADA and would be making changes to the valet services because of these violations?
- During the time of their occupancies at NorthPark Mall were they aware that their store was in violation of its own ADA policies regarding the rights of visitors to their store?
- Has their corporate ownership contacted NorthPark Management company to express their concern that visitors to the mall, and their stores, been discriminated against due to NorthPark Center and NorthPark Management's repeated, intentional and ongoing discrimination against disable drivers?
If you contact the person on this list, who is supposedly the manager and responsible party for that merchant, and they can not or will not answer these questions to your satisfaction, please take you business to other shopping venues and merchants who have made a clear commitment to the disabled community by making their facilities ADA compliant from the start and not fought tooth and nail to keep making profits while knowingly violating the ADA.

Please support the advertisers whose fees for making using of my blog page make it possible for my blog, and blogs by anyone else, to contribute to public debate. I do not need the minimal income generated by your "clicking through" these ads to support myself. However, I could never afford the expense of supporting such a blog site on my own and your viewing those advertising sponsors' messages does make this forum available to all. These ads are no security risk to your computer or your privacy for multiple reasons. First, I have absolute and total control over what ads and advertisers appear on my blog. I have nothing to gain from your visiting an advertisers site and finding as a result that your computer is infected or your privacy infringed upon. Second, these ads are placed and serviced by a reputable sales organization - AdSense. They would quickly go out of business if readers who click through the ads they place on this blog became the least bit dissatisfied by the results. Finally, Google and Blogspot.com have nothing to gain from damaging your computer or infringing on your privacy and everything to lose if they do.
