Rich vs. Poor - Their separation - econonically and physically - increases crime, limits our abilities to fight crime or do so much as speak to each other rationally

Rating for this letter: Just plain stupid
Author:  Ide Trotter, Duncanville

Re:  All Things Being Unequal

We accept disparities if the playing field is level -- but it isn't, says Glenn Greenwald" and "Vilifying the rich and promoting downward mobility is a ruinous course, says David Harsanyi," Sunday Points.

Thank you for the dramatic pairing of unequal arguments, irrational and rational, under the heading of "All things being unequal." Glenn Greenwald took twice as much space for his fact-free diatribe, a failed attempt to support Occupy Wall Street, as David Harsanyi took to lay out facts, point by point, eviscerating Greenwald's emotional polemic.

What could be clearer?

Well, perhaps your letter to start with Mr. Trotter.  Truly, you can not have read both articles and found these comments to be your best effort when you sat down to write the The Dallas Morning News.  You can't be so stupid as your comments suggest.

There is an absolute dearth of scholarly analyses on the subject of the causes, outcomes, and potential means of reducing them to everyone's benefit, not just the "vilified rich" without promoting "downward mobility."
Without evening knowing it, you are being effected by this ever-growing separation between the rich and the poor - both economically and geographically.

Before you take the time to comment on other's commentary, take the time to educate yourself so that you have something to contribute other than invective.

May I suggest you do so by reading an analysis of crime in your neighborhood - Dallas County - that can be easily understood applying some analysis through measuring the Index of Concentrated Extremes and Concentrated Disadvantaged, both of which deal convincingly with the likely outcomes of separating the rich from the poor economically and physically.

Read the following and let me know if you're views are altered.  Here is the view from the less-than-level playing field right here in Dallas County,

I do not need the minimal income generated by your "clicking through" these ads to support myself. However, I could never afford the expense of supporting such a blog site on my own and your viewing those advertising sponsors' messages does make this forum available to all. These ads are no security risk to your computer or your privacy for multiple reasons. First, I have absolute and total control over what ads and advertisers appear on my blog. I have nothing to gain from your visiting an advertisers site and finding as a result that your computer is infected or your privacy infringed upon. Second, these ads are placed and serviced by a reputable sales organization - AdSense. They would quickly go out of business if readers who click through the ads they place on this blog became the least bit dissatisfied by the results. Finally, Google and Blogspot.com have nothing to gain from damaging your computer or infringing on your privacy and everything to lose if they do.
